Sri Lanka’s tourism recovery showed signs of losing momentum at the start of September, with tourist arrivals during the first six days of the month falling 1.1% year-on-year (YoY), according to official arrival data.

Sri Lanka’s rupee closed at 328.70/329.00 to the US dollar in the spot market on Tuesday, weaker from 328.25/30 the previous day, while bond yields closed broadly steady, dealers said.

NTB proposes Rs. 13.87 b Rights Issue to nearly double stated capital
Nations Trust Bank PLC yesterday said it proposes to float a Rs. 13.87 billion Rights Issue that, if fully subscribed, will nearly double its stated capital to Rs. 27.86 billion from Rs. 13.99 billion, while strengthening its Common Equity Tier 1 capital position to support growth and provide greater buffers against heightened risks.
